How to build an outdoor LCD advertising machine with high reliability and long life?
1. Industry background and challenges
Outdoor LCD advertising machine (also known as outdoor digital signage) is an important subdivision of the commercial display industry. In the early years, the industry expanded rapidly, but at the same time, many problems were exposed: the vague technical threshold led to uneven product quality, homogeneous plagiarism, vicious competition at low prices, and excessive demand for customization. The core pain point is that the lack of professional thermal design talents, especially the lack of system-level cooling solutions, directly affected the stability and life of the whole machine.
Many LCD advertising machine manufacturers and even customers define "good heat dissipation" only at the level of "no black screen in the sun", but ignore that thermal design is a comprehensive project, which needs to balance many indicators such as heat dissipation efficiency, dustproof and waterproof, noise control, EMC, maintenance cost and long-term reliability. If the heat dissipation problem is "solved" only by adding fans or lowering the dust-proof level, it will inevitably lead to excessive noise, dust accumulation, accelerated brightness attenuation (such as attenuation of more than 30% in one year), and even lead to defects such as mura, film wrinkle and screen explosion.
Limitations: not suitable for high humidity, salt fog or dust environment, and the inner part needs to be cleaned regularly, which is easy to accumulate dust.
