Manufacturing Methods&Common Uses Of Stretch Film

1 min read

Stretch film is primarily made from linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) and is produced through two main methods:

I.Cast stretch film: Created by continuously extruding a sheet of molten resin onto chilled rollers.

II.Blown stretch film: Made by extruding molten resin through a circular die and blowing air into it to create a bubble, which is then flattened into a roll.

Common uses of stretch film:

Unitizing pallets: Secures products to a pallet to prevent shifting, damage, and falling during transit and storage.

Bundling items: Fastens smaller items together for easier handling.

Moving and storage: Protects furniture, electronics, and other household goods from dirt, scratches, and dust.

Inventory management: Colored or opaque films can be used for warehouse organization or to deter pilferage.
