(2)High charging and discharging efficiency
(3)High safety performance
(4)Environmentally friendly

With the development of society and the advancement of technology, electric wheelchairs have become a "second pair of legs" for those with mobility difficulties. Among the many accessories for electric wheelchairs, the battery, as their power source, directly affects the daily life of the user. There are various types of electric wheelchair batteries on the market, and how to choose a battery that meets individual needs has become a topic of concern for many users.

In electric wheelchairs, the commonly used battery types are mainly two: lead-acid batteries and lithium batteries. These two batteries each have their own characteristics and differences.

1. Lead-acid battery:

The lead-acid battery is one of the earliest types of batteries used in electric wheelchairs. Its main advantages are low cost, mature technology, and large capacity. However, lead-acid batteries also have some obvious disadvantages. First, they are bulky and heavy, making them inconvenient to carry and move. Second, the charge and discharge efficiency of lead-acid batteries is relatively low, and their service life is relatively short, usually requiring replacement every 2-3 years. In addition, lead-acid batteries may produce gas during charging, posing safety risks.

2. Lithium Battery:

With the development of technology, lithium batteries have gradually replaced lead-acid batteries as the mainstream battery type for electric wheelchairs. The advantages of lithium batteries are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

(1) Small size and lightweight: The volume and weight of lithium batteries are only about one-third of lead-acid batteries, making them more convenient to carry and move.

(2) High charging and discharging efficiency: Lithium batteries have a much higher charging and discharging efficiency than lead-acid batteries and have no memory effect, resulting in a longer service life. Generally, the service life of a lithium battery can reach 5-8 years.

(3) High safety performance: Lithium batteries do not produce gas during charging and discharging and have multiple protective functions such as overcharge, overdischarge, and short circuit protection, ensuring greater safety.

(4) Environmentally friendly: The production process of lithium batteries is relatively environmentally friendly, and waste batteries can be recycled, aligning with the concept of green development.

In summary, lithium batteries have significant advantages over lead-acid batteries in terms of performance, but their cost is relatively higher. When choosing an electric wheelchair, one can decide which type of battery to use based on their needs and budget. No matter which type of battery you ultimately choose, the most important thing is that it meets your daily needs and brings more convenience and comfort to your life.
