A "Wet Equipment" for Making Laundry Detergent Pods: Enabling Safer and Smoother Production

Laundry detergent pods, these tiny "laundry miracles," are beloved by consumers for their convenience, efficiency, and powerful cleaning. But did you know? Producing a perfect laundry pod, especially ensuring it safely releases from the production line undamaged and ultimately dissolves completely in water leaving no residue, used to be a significant challenge.

Traditional methods were like using a "hot iron" to seal the edges. If the temperature wasn't controlled just right, the seal could become "too hard," leaving annoying plastic strips after washing. Furthermore, high heat and mechanical pressure could cause the liquid-filled pods to burst during forming or handling.

Now, an innovative "wet equipment" solves these problems! Its core secret weapon is one word: "wet."

How does the "Wet Equipment" work? Four simple steps, safety assured:

1.  "Sucking" Out Perfect Little Pockets: The heart of the equipment is a rotating circular drum (mold) covered with neatly arranged small dimples (cavities). The first layer of film, thin as a cicada's wing (PVA water-soluble film), is precisely laid over this drum. At this point, internal systems act like countless "mini vacuum cleaners" working simultaneously (vacuum system), pulling the film tightly and evenly into every single dimple through small holes in the mold, creating secure "little pockets." This step is crucial; the tighter the film is sucked in, the safer and more stable the subsequent steps are, minimizing shifting or tearing.

2.  "Injecting" the Laundry Essence: Precisely positioned filling heads, like nimble syringes, safely inject a measured amount of detergent into each film-wrapped "little pocket." Because the film is firmly held by the vacuum, filling the liquid is also stable, greatly reducing the risk of rupture due to movement.

3.  "Wet" Sealing – A Gentle Blanket: This is the most critical "wet" step! Before the second layer of PVA film is laid over the top, it passes over a special "wet roller." This roller gives the film a "warm water wash," making its surface uniformly moist, soft, and slightly sticky. Then, a pressure roller applies moderate force, gently pressing this moistened film onto the first layer. Something magical happens: the moisture activates the PVA film's natural adhesive properties, causing the two layers to naturally and firmly bond together under pressure and moisture! The entire process requires absolutely no high heat, much like pressing a damp finger onto paper to make it stick.

4.  "Cutting" Apart and Gentle Landing: The large sealed "pod carpet" moves to the cutting station. The cutting blades here are ingeniously designed to precisely cut along the gaps between the pods (horizontal blades cut rows, vertical blades cut columns). This design ensures the cutting force acts only on the connecting film, minimizing pulling and squeezing on the pods themselves, guaranteeing the integrity of each pod's edges. The cut pods, safe and intact, fall like ripe fruit onto a conveyor belt below, smoothly transported for packaging.

Safety and Efficiency Benefits of the "Wet Equipment":

Stable Release: Vacuum suction keeps the first film layer securely "hugging" the mold cavities throughout production, forming stable "pockets." The pod structure remains very stable during liquid filling, top film covering, and sealing, significantly reducing the risks of shifting, deformation, or even rupture on the mold, laying a solid foundation for successful final release.

Production with Fewer Breakages: The entire process offers "gentle handling." Vacuum suction avoids rough pulling, wet sealing avoids "burning" the film with high heat, and precise cutting doesn't damage the pods themselves. This significantly reduces pod breakage and leakage during production, greatly improving the yield of good products.

Seals that Truly Dissolve: Wet sealing leverages the PVA film's natural water-activated adhesion, completely eliminating the problems of seal dehydration, hardening, and non-dissolution caused by hot sealing. When consumers use them, the pod film dissolves completely, leaving no trace.

Guaranteed Speed: The rotating circular mold, combined with continuous vacuum forming, filling, wet sealing, and cutting, functions like an efficient assembly line, enabling fast, uninterrupted production to meet large-scale demands.
