Candle Filter is a cylindrical, vertical pressure vessel containing many filter elements. The candle filters are made from a variety of ceramic materials using either ceramic granules or fibers. These filters consist of several large, unglazed porcelain tubes closed at one end and placed in a closed metal chamber. Candle filters are hollow,porous ceramic cartridges. Candle filters are also used for thickening to produce concentrated flow able slurry by partial removal of the liquid phase as filtrate. Candle filters are very well suited for handling flammable, toxic and corrosive materials since they are autoclaved and designed for hazardous environments when high pressure & safe operation are required. The candle filter consists of three major components such as vessel, filtering elements and cake discharge mechanism. |
